The workforce of today, even if office based, can benefit greatly from being able to access company information whilst away from the primary workplace.
Being able to access vital information can give a company a real competitive edge, meaning the difference between getting that deal or coming in second best.
Remote working is not only beneficial for mobile staff; it can also allow employees to work seamlessly from home on those occasions where their child minder has let them down.
Informal IT can help you decide upon and configure the best suited remote working solution for your business requirements.

Thin Access |

|
Thin computing refers to a technology allowing either desktop, or application access, where only the control data such as KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse), clipboard and audio information is passed between your client computer and the host system. Actual company data remains within the company’s systems. This method of remote access is ideal for access to company databases or other large, or shared files, since the client application (example: Excel or Access) remains close to the application data within the fast LAN infrastructure, rather than over the relatively slow internet connection. Microsoft has two main implementations of this technology; Remote Desktop Services (previously Terminal Services) and Remote Desktop Sharing. The former is a session based remote access technology, which allows multiple user sessions to be granted access to both the entire desktop and individual applications on a dedicated Terminal Server. The latter is most commonly used in association with MS Small Business Server, whereby a user can access the desktop of their own work PC from a remote location. Informal IT is also a Citrix partner; Citrix has been the industry leader of Thin Client technology for some years and their solutions integrate tightly with the technology laid down by Microsoft, offering a superior end user experience as well as greater security management capabilities. |
